67 GTO OPTIONS QUESTIONS
November 04, 2003 11:21PM
I'm from Australia (down under). so there aren't that many GTO here, looking at buying one thats for sale but need to ask some questions.
Did any 67 GTO come with white interior trim, with head rests on the front bucket seats? (gto alley doesn't mention white as an option)
Is the 400 engine a big block or small block? This car apparently has a 400 big block. Are they chev or ponty engines?

In 1967 gtos were available with white interior trim. I would go to Pontiac Historical services online and get a form to fill out, they will be able to send you the build sheet on your particular car. Pontiac did not had big blocks or small blocks. There was only one block size that had many different boars. 326-455 was all the same block. Hope this info can help and again definetly get the build sheet on that car all you need is a the vin # for it. Sincerly Lance

In 1967 Pontiac called white interior "Parchment" so this is possibly your source of confusion.

the 400 pontiac is a big block it falls into a mid block area dont matter about bore size the 326 350 389 400 426 455 are all the same block thats right except 455 and 426 have a 3.5 inch crank the other's have a 3.0 inch crank but all the same block chevy 454 cranks are also 3.5 and are interchageable with the 455 also 326 350 389 400 cranks are the same except for the 426 455.. It's the connecting rods that
what make the stroke not the bore... and the heads are interchangeable and the cranks are also interchageable 326 350 389 400 cranks are exactly like each other except casting number's it's the rods that give the stroke bore sizeing make's bigger compression more intake exhaust etc. hp's and white parchment was a option for any gto any year head rest's also was another option, and 67 was the first year of the 400 and the first 3 letter's of vin, 242 code came out to show it was a GTO.. hope this help's travis williams @Ed Williams Machine

Thanks for the info it helped to clairfy it better for my self. All i was trying to say is that pontiac has one block size unlike chevy who has the big block and the small block.
