Talk about a let down 68 GTO

I stopped by my buddys after work to check out his 1968 GTO for the first time. Looks to be in really good shape...but then I looked at the VIN....the first three digits were...237...I felt terrible when I told him that his car was nothing but a LeMans...he bought it right after he graduated in 96 and had such big plans for it...till now...he figures now he might as well sell it...I actually feel bad for telling him but I guess its better now then later, right?

This is very common. When you set out to buy one of the cars you need a slight education on what to look for. Someone who currently owns a GTO is your best ally. Even if you can't find someone who owns one , any local GTO club would offer their help or support. Now your friend need to advertise the car as a GTO clone. Not a real problem if he's up front. Better he sells it before he dumps alot of money in it. Better to invest your hard earned dollars into a real GTO with the benefit of a return on your money.
