Engine SR86018 ?????????

My buddy is looking at a '67 with a non-stock engine with the number SR86018 on it. Does anybody have any idea where this came from or any history?

check the gto sites there is one that will give you numbers of engines

just type in got at search.

SR is a service replacement block. It was probably replaced at the dealer under warranty.

SR is also as close to original as one will ever get, when considering the value of a car.
