66 post or Hardtop

Hi, I'm a new GTO owner and got a 66 Post? with a Hardtop Vid #. Is this possible or was there monkey business involved. I'm sure its a post coupe when both windows are down there is a post going up to roof , Right?
My VID # has a "17" where there should be an "07" What's up?

sorry to say that! and it doesn't sound right. try any of the following.
1. check both data tags to make sure they match (cowl, drivers door). the drivers tags should be attached with rosette rivets. door should read 242176P######. cowl should st 66-24217.
2. get PHS documents and compare options listed with what the car has.
3. if both tags match in order to determine the legality of the vehicle you may need to locate the stamped serial number located in the frame at the top of the LH rear rail, this one is very hard but not impossible to see.
