I have a 98 Civic that has pretty bad water marks on the windshield. Especially when it's cold and especially when I am using the windshield wipers in the rain. Is there any polish that will get rid of the water marks? Thanks.by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Depends on what you are doing. For just an outside wash, wheel detail, and hand wax on the paint, I charge $50. My customers don't complain at all about the price because they know I take time to do the job right. If I were to do the inside (vacuum, windows, inside plastic) along with the wax, I might charge $75. If you look on my other thread, I am detailing a 1951 MG, touching up paint, hby Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Thanks Anthony. I have moderate experience detailing. I can use a buffer well and know about the different compounds. I used to be a detailer at a dealership. I was going to introduce her to a $300 base line to polish and touch up the paint. I am using 3M polish and rubbing compound--where needed (gas stains, etc..) it seems to be working very well. Are there any products out there that remove oxby Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hey all. I'm detailing a 1951 MG TC (metallic green) for a very wealthy lady. I was wondering what is a fair price to charge for: hand polishing/rust removal/paint touch-up where needed (she insists i dont use a buffer). It has been repainted with metallic paint some time ago. However, it retains most of its luster. I figure this will take me several hours, even though the car is small. Sheby Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna go with those cool Xtreme floor mats that our parts department sells. They look like the same kind of material that is used in Line-X spray-in bed liners. The parts manager has them in his truck and he says he loves them.by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hey I got a 1991 Full Size Chevy pickup with rubber floor mats. (http://www.geocities.com/camaroguytlt/truck.html) The same mats that are in most Chevy pickups/SUVs of that generation. Whever I see these mats in other trucks, they are always stained! Does anyone know how to get these stains out? Mostly the 'stains' just look like permanently worn-in dirt or something...Someone I knowby Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I do have a white car! Just bought a 1991 white chevy truck. I only park up there enough for one train to go by per day, is that still bad?by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I didn't know parking by railroad tracks damages paint! I am forced to do it every day!by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hey it's me again. One problem: they won't fix the wheels, considering I work at the dealership, and the guy who messed up my wheels is my co-worker! I need to solve this one on my own. Any suggestions? Thanks again.by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Before I bought my truck, the dealership had someone clean it up for me, and they used degreaser on the polished rims! >:-( Obviously, this etched the wheels...They said it would be no problem and they would just use metal polish to fix it. Well, the etching was taken care of, but now the finish seems dull and scratched...the wheels WERE brand new, now they look old. You can see them here:by Joey - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
