grammyB, I have used insulator wax on painted surfaces and it works well and last a while. Just a little more effort to get off. NEW AGAIN, THat is exactly how I would have done that car. Maybe paint sealant at first and than flint glaze about 3 months later. GOOD LUCK with the Saab. Joeby jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi. In my opinion, I would machine polish and then paint seal the car. Maybe do this step once or twice a year. I would wax your car three to four times a year. Ragg Topp makes a good convertible top cleaner and protectant. It comes in a kit, both cleaner and protectant. I use Ardex products and they are located in SE PA. Any questions feel free to email me at jtdeby jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi. I tried zymol before and didn't like it. Just personal preference. I like Ardex, Stoner, 3-M for polishes. Just my opinion. Ardex makes a sap remover that works very well. Tarminator works well also. Clay works well to clean the paint before polishing and waxing. I would recommend including it in your detailing routine. Good luck! Jamie, instead of rinsing with a hose, use a bucket with warm water and a towel or a wash mitt to rinse. Just do it in sections, washing then rinsing then dring the area you just washed. Start with the top sides and work your way down, doing one half like the driverside first, then the passenger side.Wash, rinse then dry.It is kind of a pain to do it like this but once you get a routine down,by jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
You get what you pay for. If you want to paint it every five years, it's your money. I would go to a few quality auto body shops, get some estaments, and go from there. A cheap paint job looks cheap. If you are going to keep your car for that long, I would spend the extra money and get abetter paint job. Good luck . Joeby jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi Bud. First, let me say thanks to all who particapate in this forum,it is very helpful to all. I think acid is worse than alkaine on wheeles. I have had sucuess with both but I have only had a problem with the acid. It was a set of chrome Mercedes Benz rims. Wheeles where too warm, and I didn,t spray enough acid on the whole rim. Clean streaks all down the rim. I didn't notice untilby jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Nuprin, I agree with Doug. I wouldn't give up the job because it may be to hard for you. At least find out if they are clearcoated. Give yourselves a chance. You have to start from somewhere. Good luck. Joeby jtford95 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Hi guys. Good luck with your new buiness. First you have to look at how much it cost you to operate you buiness per hour and how much money you two need to make per hour to live on and make it worth your while. I would add up what it cost you materal wise and time wise and at that point make your prices up from there. I would cut the ozone out of that price and add it at an added price.
