One of the great features of the historics is the pit access. The same ticket that allows you to sit in the grandstands also allows you to wander through the pits! Vehicle traffic is restricted however, as is access to the "hot pit" where the cars stage for the race.
Display Photo opportunity
Keeping history alive is an important aspect of historic racing and the teams take that mission seriously. Many have created posters describing the history of the car they are running and the racing series it participated in. Always bring your camera to the pits as you don't want to miss the excellent photo opportunities.
Sir Stirling Moss Norman Dewis
Legendary Formula One driver Sir Stirling Moss signs autographs. Norman Dewis was a Jaguar test driver and worked on the development of the legendary D-Type Le Mans race car in the late 1950s. He relived those days by driving the same car in 2000 at the Monterey Historics just after celebrating his 80th birthday.
