Re: Detailing Checklist

<HTML>Brian, yes it is the Appearance Reconditioning Checklist, basically the same but there are a few things different, just list them here in case.

Spare tire washed but not dressed.
Re-install spare tire and and tighten down equipment.
Trunk vinyl areas cleaned and dressed.
Carpet Heel Pad cleaned.
Clean underside hood insulator.
Clean and dress door and trunk gaskets.

For anyone who is intrested there is also a <a href="[www.autoint.com]; Vehicle Inspection Sheet</a>. This sheet is designed for use when the vehicle arrives at your shop ( or when you arrive at the vehicle if your mobile) .

Brian,

can you please send me a copy of that checklist? I tried going to the web address but it wouldn't come up. I also searched within your website to no avail.

Thanks,

VV

Hi everyone,

Seems this checklist is getting popular again. The link to the site was taken down several years ago. For those of you who want one or requested one via email, I will get one to you all ASAP! It is currently in Micosoft Works, which isn't too popular these days. Will need to convert it to .doc

Thanks,
Brian

Okay. Here's my very special Detailing Checklist ( got tired of waiting for Brian's ) :
1) Check to make sure your prices aren't the same as ten years ago or apply for " non-profit " status.
2) Check the car to see if it is totally trashed before quoting a price.
3) Check the paint thickness before compounding it.
4) Check the car for existing damage in case the customer tries to blame you for it.
5) Check to see if the customer want's add-ons such as PDR or Touch-ups.
6) Check scratches with your thumb nail and a magnifier before promising to remove them.
7) Check for repainted panels.
8) Check your promises. Always under-promise.
9) Check the floor mats in case you wish to sell new ones.
10) Check stains and ask what substance caused them.
11) Check on ' farm-out ' items such as lube-oil-filter services and windshield replacement.
12) Check the headlights to sell headlight restoration.
13) Check stickers and get permission to remove them.
14) Check for property left behind by the customer.
