By the amount of answers up to now, I´d say no one has any problems with headliners... but then again if you have cleaned them or experienced with them... maybe you´ll have something to recommend or to advise? Once again, all comments are appreciated!by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi all, I´ve got this doubt, maybe as many of you, on wich is the best way to clean hedliners. Being there are quite a few types of them ( with w/out cushioning, stuck to a cardboard, stuck to the metal body, just thick lining...) I would appreciate a great deal ALL of your trick and experiences in this particular field. I think it´ll be a great help for all of us! Thanks in advance! We use Sheepskin for the top panels and mid panels and a chenille sponge to do the bottoms, fenders and wheels. Sheepskin is to expensive and hard to get to use it on real dirty surfaces. Cheers to all!by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I, and the credits go to Toddco, use the WD-40 system on a regular basis and it works wonders! Just wash and scrub clean your whells and the spray a good coat of WD-40 (our old old friend) I believe that if no water is allowed to stay onthe whells, then less dirt will inhand stay too... Cheers to allby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Thanks for your different inputs, this car was a Lancia (italian car) Epsilon, and it was REALLY in a bad mess, there where stains and scratches all over it. I nearly tried the blooting option, I just rubbed the stains over with a white cotton towel...no luck!...by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi all, I´ve come to this car that has suede (yes, I´m not drunk it´s suede!!) and it is full of stains and grease marks together with many other... I´ve tried with ordinary suede shoe cleaner but the problem is that when I try to lightly scrub the stain (as directed), the soft "hair" of the surface kinda "peels off"... I just returned the car to the customer telling him thatby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I´ve always heard & been told 'bout this method, but triyng something new, I found that passing your hand over the seats with a latex surgical glove will also take off VERY much of the hair... If anyone ever has a chance to try it let me know how you feel with it! Toddco, regards and excuses for not having said anything the past weeks, I´ll drop an e-mail to you tonight. Cheers to everby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Ed, if I can give my little two cents to this post, if you have an orbital in reach then go for it and use it. There´s no way you can go wrong with an orbital, it may take a little longer to do the polishing then with a rotary, but sure will do a better and most of all, quicker job... Let us know how it worked out!by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I´ve read somwhere about those kits to repair chips and light scratches, but before posting this topic I´ve looked for it but couldn´t find it... I was wanting to know a few things such as - Does it work? - What is the time investment per vehicle? - Would you recommend using it instead of changing windshield? - What can the average cost-per-repair be approx.? - Can you direct me to a web page thby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Sometime ago I posted a topic upon removing wax and any treatment applied on the car previos to a yerly deep detail (some light polishing and so...) Most of you answered that I should use Quick Wax as it had some abrasive to clean in it, but I wanted to ask if Paint Cleaner would do the same job... Thanks again,by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi guys, greetings to all... I wanna do my own car this weekend (Metallic Silver '01 Accord) I was wondering what would be best at the waxing stage (I´d like to use Gold Class, but I know that apart from being "the most reflective" it does not last too long on the vehicle, that´s a proven fact...) if two coats of Gold Class or One of Glod Class and on top one of High Tech Yellow Waby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi all, back on the road again! As many have said, "New Year, is New Jobs!" I wanted to post this question sometime ago, but wanted to try some things before doing it... Say you have a full exterior detail (oxidized paint, dull apparence, slight microscratching and so on) My way of doing it is After a good wash (Gold Class Shampoo) I´ll go over the whole car with clay, after that I´llby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Ah Ah Ah AH... I bet they have many many ways of being used, but I´m sure that if you give it a go (say put your pet in the car for half an hour) you´ll find one more use to it...!!! P.S. I´m so sure that it works wonders, that if any hairs are left behind, you can bring the car over to Spain and I´ll clean it for FREE... Thanks very much for all the inputs in my last post about the pets hair and also to the old forum from where I got some more ideas, but wanting to experiment, I got myself to work with three of my dirtiest´s friends cars, whom of course, own long and short hair pets and by the way they seem to live in the cars instead of in their baskets! Anyway, after trying several of the systems proposed, Iby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Let´s all, in a quiet way to ourselves, say a little prayer... Everyone in it´s own way and believes, everyone in the way they like, but all for one reason and intention... That´s to a better world, to a better civilization, to a better person in each of us. To a nicer neighbour, to a better Dad or why not, a better son... Sorry Dan, but there´s a little issue I forgot to mention... I live in Spain and due to that I often don´t get good timings for flight connections to the USA to get the pads at your local body shop or any other... LO as L as you can!!! ;-)by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Right after posting my response, I did some searching and found those two places distributing the Schlegel pads. I´ve requested some info and I´ll let you know about what they say...by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
thanks for your input, I´m myself looking for a website, but haven´t found nothing yet. Yes Gary, if you´d be so kind as to let me know if you find anything too... Cheersby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi all, I hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas Day Lunch... I´ve read in a book about those pads made by Schlegel (!) Does anyone know them? If so, are they any good? HAve they got a web site to purchase? Thanksby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Hi all, I´m starting to use this product with my Makita 9227 polisher and I have this problem: When I apply the product, it seems to dry out on the paint being very difficult to remove if not with water, and also it leaves kindda little pinhead spots all over the application area... Where can my mistake be? Should I wet slightly the pad? I´m using the recommended 1750 RPM speed and a wool pad. Thby Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I´ve just got my Makita 9227 polisher, and as I can only get 3M pads locally without much hassel, I was wandering if anyone could tell me, if they use or have used them, wich pads they use (ref nos.), and what is each one used or special for. Hi everyone, I´ve bought myself a Makita 9227 Polisher, 'cause I have had a lot of jobs that either took me a lot of time with my DeWalt R.O. or was not able to accept doing due to doubts about being able to solve them because of not having the polisher. I have some questions 2 ask, even tough I know answers can be too long to post, but I ask for your help... What are the different speed 2by Willy Bermell - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
