Without actually seeing the damage it's hard to say. You have to get it up on a lift and look it over real good. If you have a dependable body guy have him look at while it's in the air. Before staring any resto my guy puts the car in the air and starts the inspection from underneath before even beginning to figure the quarters etc.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
TW sounds like he nailed it. If you are not using the car enough you will probably see it more. Could be a little rich.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
I have a numbers matching 66 Lemans. Also have a numbers matching 67 Goat. These go to shows. I have a cloned 74 Goat that has a swapped 400. I enjoy driving this to cruise night etc. If you like the car drive it and enjoy it. 74s are their own breed. Be prepared to say "No it's not a Nova"If the motor runs well use it and have fun.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
HI 65s with manual trans could have been 3.08-3.23-3.36-3.55 or even special ordered with 3.90 0r 4.33. If the axle housing hasen't been changed look for the identifying code stamped on the housing on the right sdie of the carrier. D-3.08 K-3.23 E-3.36 F-3.55. If it had heavy duty rear brakes G-3.08 L-3.23 M-3.36 N-3.55 P-3.90 S-4.33.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum

66 and 67 are essentialy the same car. The tailights are different and the rocker panel mouldings are different. The 67 was no longer available as a tri power(3 carbs)389, but a four barrell 400. basically very similar cars.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Thanks Tony that is the info I was looking for. I got mine working by luck. I found an old vacuum advance or ac/heater door actuator(not sure which)The one I found happens to fit in the saddle where the solenoid was mounted. I ran a piece of hard wire from this actuator to the prong on the door and it opens with acceleration and closes 3/4 when at idle. It shuts altogether with ignition off. Hi Tony Is there a relay or thermal type switch somewhere on the firewall or engine? I acquired a 74 ventura with a shaker. The guts inside the shaker are there and the solenoid and vacuum operate when benched but there is no harness from the bottom of the shaker. I amtrying to find out what prompts the solenoid to operate under acceleration. Thanksby Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Hi Steve The shops in this area get $50-70 an hour. 43 hours is a whole week on the floor pans alone. Assuming he is using $70 an hour the bill qould be around $3000. The last time I did floor pans was over 20 years ago. That took 2 days but in a home garage with two of us working on it. I had a similar situation about ten years ago. I bought a car from a guy that was being done in a resto shop.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
In New York the State DMV has investigators that look into automotive businesses like the one you dealt with. Check to see if Maryland has the same. It is possible you were not the only one that had this type of dealing with that shop. In the future try and deal with places that come recommended by other car hobby people.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum

Does anyone know the correct relay number for the relay that opens the shaker door on a 74 or a current issue relay that will work?by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Usually the ears on the bezel are broken, but to have the whole unit it comes with a heater bypass duct that reroutes the hot air around the back of the player. There are also afew sites on line from guys that restore old delco radios etc. sometimes these people have an 8 track lying around. I found a complete working unit from a radio restorer in CA but that was about 6 or 7 years ago.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum

Hi Adam I have a 67 and recently had flowmasters put on. Not the two chamber. The ones I have are throaty but you don't have to blast the radio at cruising speed. I had them done at a local Meinike and they ran around a duece installed. Dennisby Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Sorry for such a delay. My computer was down for awhile. I'm in New York. There is a guy here that has some 67 bumpers in stock. they are around $350 but the shipping to California would probably be a lot. Did you try Bumper Boyz?by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Does anyone know the weight of a 74 ventura or gto? Thanksby Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
HI Mike When I bought my 67 about 12 years ago it had headers on it. The guy believed they were Hedmans and they fit quite well. They are still on there.by Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
Hi Mike If you know anyone in the police department they can run the vin and get the current owner. They may or may not do this for you but it can be traced. Dennisby Dennis - Pontiac GTO Forum
