Robbie I just converted a 66 GTO from manual to power steering in 2005....you will need a power steering pump, pulley, alternator mounting bracket and dont forget the mounting plate, (shaped like a flat piece of metal, shaped like a horseshoe) to attach the pulley system to the block.....call these two places for all the parts you need, you can also find them on the internet....East-West Pontiacby rz0bwr - Pontiac GTO Forum
Hello fellow GTOers!! This is Big Mike writing from Sterling Hts, Michigan....have had a beautiful 66 tri power, 4 speed GTO, fire engine red, car since I bought it in 1993....guess what? I could never get the glove box open!!! The lock was jammed/broken and I tried every gadget I could to open it but no luck...forgot about it for 13 years....then last month I had a locksmith come out and he wby rz0bwr - Pontiac GTO Forum
Tony, you need to get advice from a speed shop or a high performance engine rebuilder. If you live in or near any large city there will be enough old time mechanics and engine rebuilders out there to help you. You will find on this site plenty of "experts" with a number of opinions, some good, and some goofy. If it is an original 389 GTO engine and you want blazing speed, just add heaby MIKE HRABOVSKY - Pontiac GTO Forum
Ken, are you sure you want to restore this car? What is it worth? If if was a verified 71 Judge convertible, plenty! However, any GTO without the original engine is not worth much at all and dont let any buddy or "pal" tell you otherwise. 71 model, not the most desirable by any means. Not trying to discourage you but be truthful. You probably will wind up spending way, way, morby MIKE HRABOVSKY - Pontiac GTO Forum
Pat Catalano: You want a 65 GTO convertible....so does everyone else! No joking, most people with that particular model if it is in very good to "mint" condition want plenty of bucks for it. Be sure to ask for pontiac historical papers on it to make sure it is not a Tempest disguised as a GTO. There were plenty of fakes out there for 65's. Mike, you can discuss tires and wheels forever with gto fans. Best place to call for any tire or wheel related issues with gtos: Coker Tire, in Tennesseee. They are the gurus of vintage cars, tires and wheels. Also, strongly consider getting a set of steel belted radial red line tires from them (no one else makes them but Coker!). Your 64 will ride and handle 100% better. Check out Cokerby MIKE HRABOVSKY - Pontiac GTO Forum
Tony Chiu's message is correct......among the GTO crowd you will be laughed at behind your back when you start putting parts in that dont belong to certain years.....yes there are more 400s around....like putting tripower on a 67 or 68, 69, etc. everyone knows tripower was only available for 64-66 gto/s, yet I have seen some 67's with a tripower setup and they get plenty of snickers....by MIKE HRABOVSKY - Pontiac GTO Forum

Help, GTO fans and mechanics of the 66 model: Have had a perplexing problem with my aftermarket installed Pioneer under the dash radio/cd player. When the car is shut off the memory on the radio apparently is still draining a tiny amount of juice from the battery. After 3-4 days battery is dead as a doornail. If I disonnect the memory wire the problem goes away! Does a radio memory drain thby MIKE HRABOVSKY - Pontiac GTO Forum
