All I'm using is Carpro Iron X to decontaminate wheels Every other time, just Optimum No Rinse Acid and alkaline wheel cleaners are a no no. work fast but should be banned worldwide, nasty crapby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
hazing is easily avoided if you simply do not use compound Compounds are obsolete and have been replaced by single polish systems that are waterbased and can do all the work for you and will never leave marks behind in the finish unless your a hopeless detailer To fix paint, we have three options decontaminate and purify it with FK1, Iron X, clay blocks and chemical paint cleaners Machineby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
3D are just marketing the shit out of themselves as some brilliant manufacturer I don't use dressings or any of what they make, I just dont use those types of products anymoreby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
ah my apologies bud, I forgot you had the wool pad. Sure foam is still around and I'll use it for the last step or two but for the correction step, the new pad materials are much better than foam and even wool Europe, USA and Asia are the leaders, though they all make alot of crap products too, same old formulations again and again And when did I say that what I was using is Australiaby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Bud the only problem I have with the Buff Pro is that it only has foam drum pads available and I doubt it can remove orange peel like a rotary can, a key in creating a new level of machine polisher achievable gloss Foam pads are now on the way out for paint correction We now have ten buffing pad materials for DA, RO and Rotary application Silk wool, Wool/Microfibre blend, Velvet, Denim, Raby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
G'day Pro Techt Yes using the Xpert. Xpert 1000 ultra polish works on any paint, hard, soft, sticky it doesnt matter the 1500 high tech is the light correction and finishing polish for all paints, especially softs. So I have two polishes for everything bar orange peeel removal. That is done with another product because the abrasives were designed for doing orange peel removal by machby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
G'day All, the few that remain that is Have you embraced any single polish systems for paint correction yet? If not, now is the time, Why buy three or four abrasive polishes that are solvent based, contain fillers, carcinogenic cancer causing substances, burn your eyes, cheap solvents and make your work harder, requiring soaps to clean the pads The days of needing compounds and poby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Good to see you here Bud. One more thing that effects paint finishes Windy days blowing australian soil across a car's finish over a period of many years If your car is dusty or dirty and your driving at 70 miles an hour and its a windy day, the finish is going to be effected. this over a long period is what also causes the paint to not have the look that fresh paint does. as does heaby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Guys on the You Tube Video need to learn that compounds are obsolete and rotaries are not needed to correct everything on a cars paint finish now Surbuf and Single polish system with an RO or DA and bingo, same result, no marring.by svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
New cars do not look their best. They can be made better than new. Its done by purifying the paint. and thickening it with a glass or quartz membrane which amplifies the colour coats and clear coat underneath it. One can also make new paint better by buffing the paint slightly as the very top 5 to 10 microns of the clear coat on the Australian cars is basically rubbish stripping that off maby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
coloured plastic not painted plastic hey. 4000 grit sounds good. nice and gentle I'd follow that with Glare Zero, Micro Finish and Infinity to glass coat the plastic and in essence, make it thicker and glossier than what abrasives canby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
yep your spot on bud. I'm getting the Buff Pro before I ever buy another rotary. It can leave linear marring but compared to other machines, is much easier to fix and faster. Dont think the buff pro can fix peel like a rotary can but thats a high end service not everyone wants and some paints too thin to do it too besides that, the Buff Pro drum polisher is the way to go Of courseby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
yeah I agree. perry the sales guy is a weird one.by svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
The Surbuf pads are not abrasive so I've been told so it all relies on the polish one uses. Since Xpert 1000 is not a compound but a single polish system, it can cut and finish and all without slicing loads of paint off Imagine using wool pad, rotary and Menzerna Power Finish or 3M Extra duty rubbing compound. Now that would slice much more paint off Since I dont correct paint on eachby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Cquartz is excellent. I like that alot. Have been on the phone with AVI from Cyprus who sells it I must get some later this year and play with it some more Dont bother yourself with Glare HQ in Nevada or Cali, they will deny their is a difference but trust me there is. Zero was made for the Australian distributor as he disliked knockout by itself and needed something to clean the paint moby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
he failed to remove holograms because he didnt run the machine fast enough, probably didnt use any pressure and ran the machine at 2 1/2. way too slow and he may of used too faster arm speed as well. With Megs MF discs and Surbuf with DA's and Random Orbitals, slow arm speed and high speed with pressure is key to success. this is how I do it with surbufby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

QuoteProfile DetailerOK, I didn't leave for good. I tried asking about sanding techniques in a thread a few weeks ago, but nobody answered it. It seems to be a surface protection forum then! @SVR - Matt, you talk about long term fillers in several posts. Can you elaborate on what you are filling with and how. I use SCDG from RMP, as you know. In my opinion (so far), it doesn'by svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I disagree bill. Glare Infinity Ultra wash does not contain sodium or harsh alkali Better quality car wash soaps and soapless washes are far different from a dish wash soapby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
exactly mate. We should not be set in our ways and perform detailing/refinishing in the same manner year in year out embrace change, create the future and believe that there is a better way I dont believe that long term filler type products are at their best yet, we need a thick gel like peelable coating that fills everything and protects the paint it will come. there are peelable coatinby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
enjoyed it as a hobby and had a pro detailer do my car years ago and loved the processes and seeing the results of your work rather than just working in an officeby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
it isnt useless bill. You have made your points and I agree with some of them but why cant we just talk about other detailing stuff like techniques, new products, tools etc Stuff like surbuf and meguiars MF discs, new ways of treating exterior window/door trims instead of using dressings, tyres, wheels etcby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
bill aint that bad. Sure he goes on and on but he has a point Dont just do paint correction (cutting) to repair paintwork or maintain it I don't do it more than three times on one car. after that, long term fillers onlyby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
everything is abrasive to some level. my motto is - for the first five years of the cars life, keep it mint after that, keep doing lots of TLC on it but fill defects with GLARE/Restructure Marine/Toughseal/AT-5 type products and thicken that paint depth and gloss right up and live with a few defects, instead of polishing the depth and metal flake out of the paint finish which I did with my secby svr73 - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
