<HTML>When and where is this "Autoint Prep Excellence class" I'm in SoCal.</HTML>by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Thanks Brandy, I have the Makita, with the "D" handle. I have some stuff from Bud, but the "one step" is one I don't have. The paint on the G35 is the typical dealer preped car, that looked great coming from the dealer because of all the filler they use after they've scrateched and buffed the hell out of it. So once the prep evaporated after a couple oby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I am okay with the rotary, been using it for the last 3 years but just for stubborn areas, but if there is an easier way to get the same results I will go that route. Besides my makita will tire me out after finishing an entire vehicle such as a SUV. With the rotary you need to constantly concentrate. I do find it interesting that my metallic green explorer responds well to the pc,by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I have been working a 2 foot square area with my pc and polishing pad with DACP, 3 or 4 times now. I have worked the product till it looks dry, seems to be about 4 min, but still the black paint has a haze to it. The pc is set to 6 with some pressure behind it and the vehicle is a new G35. So someone recommended #82 with a pc should get rid of the hazing. Well, yesterday I found a dby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>A co-worker of my wife's, has a light blue Infinity G35, that my wife convinced him, that since his car is an investment, he should take care of it. He just thinks of it as transportation. My question is, if I take on this vehicle to detail, and I intend not to spend more than a few hours on it what products would you recommend after claying I am thinking a 1 step cleaner/ poliby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I agree it is surface micro scratching, I could see it when I look at it real close. I was able to take it out with DACP and the PC set at 5 and worked it till the product was gone or at least looked like there was no more product on the surface. I have some FINESSIT II MACHINE GLAZE, at what point should I use this product, before, after or in place of DACP or perhaps not at all? Thby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I had forgotten that using the DACP with the burgundy pad caused hazing, which had happen on my new black car. To take out the hazing and bring back the deep dark shine, what should I hit it with? I have tried the PC and DACP but still looked much the same. I do own the PC and a rotary, and have had good results using both on a dark green explorer with clear coat, but going to the blaby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I've used Westly's for more than 30 years on my tires and I don't see any drying out of the rubber. When the tire treads are gone and its time to change, the tires still look great on the outside. The white lettering does age and of course is not as white as new but it still looks great. So far I haven't found anything that cleans the tires as well and keeps theby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Yes I saw the same show. I used the oil as mentioned, it didn't produce the shiny look because I wiped it down, so that it had a nice fresh clean tire look. I posted here a question from the show about using the high speed polisher to apply wax.</HTML>by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I saw a short blip on a well known detailer on TV, and I noticed one of his people using the high speed polisher to apply the wax. I've always used the pc to lay down the wax and was wondering if there is any advantage or reason for using the high speed polisher as opposed to the pc?</HTML>by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Do you guys think the micro-fiber bonnet is better than a polishing pad for applying waxes or sealants? I just use the mf towels to remove.by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Stephen, do you think that the "Imperial Microfinishing Glaze Part No# 051131-05992" is about the same the 3M SMR? I know alot of people who don't own a polisher use SMR, but I've been using it with my polisher and quite happy with the results. But I was just curious, perhaps this Microfinishing Glaze is better, as far as speed is concerned, with the same result? Was at theby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
John: I was curious about something that I think about at times and wonder what you guys feel. I know when I do a late model vehicle that has some cobwebbing, I clay, swirl remove, polish, then wax. These are the steps everyone takes, but, I find that after I have removed the cobwebbing with a product such as Meguiar's #83 (DACP), that the finish looks good enough to just go straight to thby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Well it used to be called M7, but people just called it guacamole. Apparently it was used a lot at auto shows and custom car shows.by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I believe, in the Mequiars professional line, they cover and or assist GM, DAILER CHRYSLER, FORD, MISTSUBISHI, LANDROVER, MERCEDES BENZ, BMW, INFINITI, HYUNDAI, TOYOTA, AND JAGUAR. If you look at the GM Vehicle Care bottle you will see Mequiars listed on the front label, the same with Mercedes Benz.by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Okay I just wait a bit longer and see if there is anyone who was detailing 10 or more years ago. The old time real school detailers, the gurues(sp?).by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I was just wondering if anybody here would remember a product people used to call 'guacamole'? This was a while back, perhaps a little more than 10 years. I haven't heard it even mentioned in conversation here or at another site I visit? I have the commercial name but this they rarely used and they just called it by the look of the stuff. From what I just heard today it was somby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Whenever I detail the exterior of a car it takes me twice as long as it should according to the post I've been reading. When I am done the work is nothing short of awesome, and this being mainly on dark coloured vehicles. What I would like to know from the pros here, is how do you get a near perfect, flawless finish without taking 1 1/2 days to do it? I know everyone didn't start outby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

Okay, perhaps you guys can help me. I just finished this last weekend a friend of mine's 2001 dark blue Mustang GT. Great looking car with a great shine. Come evening time, an hour or so before the sun sets, you would see all kinds of spider webbing throughout. The feel of the paint was real smooth but could do with a little claying. So when I got finished the car looked awesome. Thereby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Turbo: You say:"Then I used Auto magic high gloss sealant which I applied by hand and removed with a polishing pad blue pad, at I could believe the finish." Why do you use Auto magic? Have you compared that to Mequiars, which is what I use, but I am just curious as to your experiences? I will be willing to give your product a shot. O. Megadya 1354 W. 244th St. Harbor City, Ca 90710 Oh by the way, thanks.by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Dan, I liked your thoughts and will also give it a try. I don't have the problems mentioned above, but would like to ask you about Speed Glaze? Who makes it and is it readily available? Thanksby oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Gee, that seems like a lot of excess work to me. Why strip off the wax with the sealant just to apply sealant glaze or rejuvinator again? All this work just so you can put on wax over the SG?by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Dan, when you say you use your sealant, don't you need to strip off the wax first? My Zaino says to strip off the wax before applying the sealant. I too use the wax over the sealant, and I use it this way because I can't get a smudge free finish on the coat without a layer of wax over the sealant.by oli - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
I saw this product in the paint supply store and was wondering what is it used for? Is it used instead of wax? If so will it last longer than the average type of wax such as Mequiars? Or do I use wax on top of this? Will I get a better shine using this product? I see by the instructions that it is applied by a DA such as my PC or by hand.
