sorry to say that! and it doesn't sound right. try any of the following. 1. check both data tags to make sure they match (cowl, drivers door). the drivers tags should be attached with rosette rivets. door should read 242176P######. cowl should st 66-24217. 2. get PHS documents and compare options listed with what the car has. 3. if both tags match in order to determine the legality ofby Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum

if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail no amount of buffing will take it out. try this site they advertise a system for scratch removal. I wouldnt waste my money or time though, if possible just buy a new window glass.by Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum
the numbers check out for a 67 gto convertible. Additionaly, the '67 seems to have more value than a '66. whats the condition of the car?? if considerable work is needed keep that in perspective. for example, come painting time (if needed) be prepared to hear $8,000 and up for a good paint job. that'll will be in the low side with no body rot, major panel damage and/or panel rby Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum
phs is the way to go if the car is the real deal, but beforehand hand you should do some minor checking: 1. make sure the vin in the drivers side starts with the following: 2 42 67 6 (letter) 1##### make sure the vin is secured with ROSETTE rivets. rivets should have no rust. look at the data plate located in the firewall should have: 66 24267 (assembly plant, tby Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum

looked in my pontiac gto restoration guide. that paint is listed for 1965 and 66 rally wheel with no dupont x-reference. 67 wheel colors listed are starlight black, montreux blue, mariner turquoise, and seneca bronze. anyways.. try OPG and PY to mention a few.. the sell the right paint in marble rattles... you can even buy it as complete kit with correct masking cutouts.by Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum
ditto with the above. the console should be marked as accesory 2G on your data plate, as far as the 4 speed... you need PHS to properly document it. My 66 had very few options listed in the data plate "E-2GR". PHS came back with several nice options nowhere else listed (including 4speed, performance package, rally gauges, etc. ). pop the cash, best investment you'll make....by Jrod33 - Pontiac GTO Forum

Hi All!. just read a couple of books. one on restoring and one in maintening my '66 gto. one book made a big issue about having the car "number matching" and the other discussed how to re-build to make it a safer and more reliable daily driver. in example, replacing the front drums to more reliable and safer disk brakes.... the 66 has great lines and in my modest uneducated opinioby JROD33 - Pontiac GTO Forum
