<HTML>I used to use the stuff every day until they changed their formula a couple years ago. Z-5 used to cure in 5 minutes when applied with a DA, now you need to add some curing agent and who wants to do that? The new formula would still be wet when time to wipe off. <HTML>Joe, You in particular, would have died. I have never seen any other collector have so many perfect unrestored muscle cars. The guy wants us back every year around the same time. Im so stoked!!! Are you going to be in torrance not this friday but the next friday? I hope not because Im leaving for Vegas that friday. <HTML>Well, I just got back from Scottsdale, AZ, what a non stop exhilerating experience!! We met a lot of cool people. Turns out instead of detailing at the auction( only did one car at the auction, a 2 million dollar 1 of 14 orange hemi-cuda!), we instead detailed for a car collector with some seriously good taste. We must have compounded-polished 20 million dollars worth of cars, 26 caby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Brian, Im with you 100% everything you just posted. Bud, The wheel acid I use contains oxalic acid and is perfectly safe if the rim is cool. I am guessing the PH is around 5. What is there left to talk about? Im not worried, I know you will find more words to add in this discussion, lol! <HTML>No offense taken and I do understand the need for clarification for others on the board since their are too many products out there, without proper care, can cause a whole lot of damage. If you want to argue that sodium hydroxide is a hot chemical, so is Oxalic acid. Oxalic acid is used in many wheel cleaners, but becomes "relatively" safe when a chemist keeps the ph levelby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Ive used acid water spot removers with success. And like you, I wasnt too thrilled about the idea until a fellow detailer told me how to use it. Spray it on, let dwell for 10 seconds rinse it off, if its still there, repeat the procedure. Product we used was 3D Eraser. I will be honest and tell you I don't have an answer for you with complete water spot removal. It seems after cby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Bud, I don't really know if you read my post or if you just like to argue for the sake of arguing? We don't use a degreaser for all functions. We use a degreaser for what it is intended to do, clean heavy dirt from engines, door jambs and fenderwells. We also use it for presoaking, why not when there is no damage to any surfaces, even when left to dry in the sun. Iby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Bud, Our degreaser is formulated with sodium metasilicate, butoxyethenol, and a safe amount of sodium hydroxide( these are what I was reffering to as water based solvents). It is 3D Grand Slam, I forgot to mention we cut the solution 50-50 with water. This is what we use to clean white walls, tires, door jambs, very dirty engines( when we ever do), fenderwells, and any body pby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>I was talking about fallout removers that don't require clay bar after. The apply then rinse off products. Valugard ABC loosens up the fallout, so you can remove it with the clay bar. Other products are so strong that you don't need to clay, thats not good. Hope that made sense. Take care Dan Draper DRAPERSAUTOIMAGERY.com</HTML>by Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Valugard's ABC is all we use and all we have ever tried. Ron has his hands too deep in with the OEMs that why would you trust any other chemicals?Ive heard bad things about other fallout removers(fading of the paint after 1 month, streaks, and all around burnt clear coat etc..). I would pretty much stay away from the products that remove fallout without following up with clay bby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>Paul, Hi, yes that brush will do just fine, it is basically what we use. We never use a wash mitt or any toweling on conv. tops since they will leave lint. For maintenance, just use car wash soap and agitate the top with the brush and rinse. A lint roller works great to remove any debris that might have stuck. I also highly recomend the use of Raggtopp convertable protectant. Afterby Dan - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Rob, Hi, the products I use almost all the time is the Power Gloss (heavy duty compound) and the Final Polish Two(swirl remover/polish). <HTML>I am with Concours Garage, usually our customers can care less about what is being used since they want their cars done so frequently. I do use paint sealant more often than not, but what does it matter when clear coats need attention sooner than 6 months to prevent spider webs and swirls. <HTML>Using a quick detail spray after regular washing w/ soap and DI water helps us provide quality maintenance washes more consistantly. It makes panels look all the same gloss. <HTML>Bud, Thanks for your post. If I remember correctly from my last conversation with my chemist friend, emulsifier allows the silicone oil to be thinned with water, and when mixed together the emulsifier and water combo causes the product to turn white every time. <HTML>Bud, Is it a water/silicone emulsion? Im trying to figure a way to formulate a dressing without the emulsifier and water.
