<HTML>Bud, thank you for your suggestion. This association , being only 6 weeks old, is not going to get in the business of trying to force charity car washes out of business. Perhaps the ICA should follow the WCA program and encourage its carwash owner members to follow their program nationwide, asking car wash owners to allow charity groups to use their tunnels ? <HTML>I went to the Doctors about a month ago, been having some knee problems, mainly in the right leg, but also in the left. I'd like to say it was ski-ing, playing soccer, pub crawls and doing things with Krista Kelly that caused it. Sadly it was years of neglect. I spent half my working life in auto shops , kneeling on cold concrete floors, and the Doctor told me that this is what cby Jim Hammill - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>Mark, I dont really use many Meguiars products so I dont know what speed they suggest. I know CarBrite sometimes put suggested buffing speeds on their labels. I usually compound at around 1100 rpm when using an Electric buffer. Foam pads can "creep" a little sometimes, I think it's just a matter of practice , and getting the right combination of speed and pressure. Jiby Jim Hammill - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Exciting news from PDTA! Today we discussed the idea of broadcasting a "Car Care" show aimed at educating people in the importance of caring for the modern car and having their vehicle regularly detailed by a professional detailer with a public TV station. It may be a one-off show, or even just a segment. If things go really well, perhaps a small series would develop.by Jim Hammill - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>I heard that too Brian, up to $2000 or something like that. Used car lots will have a hard time selling those things on. Wonder if they will put those used car warranties on them ! <HTML>A little bit off topic... Have been doing a bit of research in to these hybrid engines, and was shocked to find out the cost of a replacement battery pack for one of these things. Any where between $5000 (yes Five thousand ) and $6320 (Toyota prices), but they are warrantied for 100000 miles or 8 years. So whatever you do , dont buy used ! I've read that book over and over again, not just for the personal stuff like how he dealt with Henry , but also a great read for anyone who wants to take a look inside how the motor industry works. <HTML>Finally got this L car done late yesterday afternoon. The exterior took about 5 hours all told. I counted 78 areas where the touch up paint had been applied. Nearly %90 of all the scratches that were covered up could have simply been removed with a good buffing . The other %10 were through the clear, or too deep to remove. <HTML>Ron, you can feel the paint, he put it on with one of those "precision" brushes that come with the touch up paint.
