Bud is right on regarding his concern regarding shampoo residue in carpets. I have found that to counteract the shampoo residue problem I use a commercially produced " FIBRE RINSE ". This product is mixed with water and then sprayed on to the carpet fiber after cleaning and is then also extracted out. It works well and does a great job of removing the shampoo from the fibers to preby S10 Guy - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

To address your original concern regarding rinsing, as Anthony has already pointed out, the purpose of course is to remove the dirt and the detergent that is used to emuslify the dirt/grime from the fabrics that are being cleaned. Get and apply a good enzyme based cleaner product. These products are designed especially for food based spills and they actually digest or eat the remaining food residue in the carpet. When the source is gone so is the odor. The ones I have used are granular and are mixed in water to be activated and applied. See your local janitorial supply house to obtain the product. Try a little "hairspray" on the ink. Then wash off the hairspray residual with mild soap and water. If the ink has not penitrated the leather finish is should come off otherwise it may have redyed the leather. Be gentle and be careful. I recomend that you blot with an absorbent white towel only. This way you will be able to see right away if the stain is comming off the leatherby S10 Guy - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
Turbo: Here is something to think about. My advice would for you to carefully consider what you what under your companies "umbrella". and what sort of liabilities you may be sharing by doing so. Thanks Don: With respect to the products I refered to in my original post ..........Medallion cleaner, # 7 and carnuba............ would you consider the carnuba same as the sealer you refered to above and apply the carnuba right opver the # 7 ..........or would this be an additional step with another product ........ that being a "sealer" before you apply the carnuba. Brian: I suggest you try some mild hair shampoo to remove the spots. It seems to me that most hairspray is composed of two elements, the carrier that flashes offafter it is sprayed that is usually some sort of alcohol and the remaining components that are the glue that hold those lovely locks of hair in place. Robert: You have been provided some very sound advice in the preceeding posts... Don: You have stated your preference for synthetics. In principle Im with you but I have heard that while the properties of these products tent to be great their durability and life expetacy is quite short lived compared to carnuba and other waxes. Grant; Regarding the carpet process, most any quality general purpose cleaners will work however if your standards for carpet care are the same as your general detailing standards you might want to reaserch a bit further.
