<HTML>I meant to post the website. I found the Shield to leave a bad film with not much benefit and the glass cleaner wasn't anything special. The Spray Clay did however remove some troublesome water spots pretty easily.</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>I've have both Bud's Test and also the GuruReports.org wax test. Both tested with what they felt was important and also with what resources were available to each. Sure I would like to have seen more tests with both, but GuruReports.org downgraded some products just based upon the availablity or ease of obtaining. To me that doesn't affect the products abilities, butby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Is California getting ready to change their law on VOC levels in chemicals? I was told by a supplier that some of their chemicals would not change formulation and thus not be available in California. I don't live in California, but found it interesting. <HTML>Doug, Since your a Griots shopper their glass cleaner did not fair well at all. The report said they love their glass cleaning towels, but their window cleaner didn't cut grease or debris very well and left a film. They use a scale of similar to a school grade and Griot's got a C+.</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I bought a Glass Test report from They ranked Bon Ami #1, Clear Vue by Turtle Wax #2, & Sprayway #3. They really liked Invisible Glass, but felt it left a slight film. I personally can't remember having any problems with it before... The Eimann Fabrik wasn't so good on "Soiled" glass they said. They felt is rolled off dirt and wiping the product off onlyby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Brian, In response to Bud's reply on the Collinite, #845 is the Insulator wax and #885 is the Paste Fleetwax. So both were tested. And #885 is the same as #476 Super Double Coat. Collinite rebadges the 476 as an Automotive Wax (smaller can) and #885 as a marine wax (larger can). I love the stuff, in fact the only 2 products I have used for the last 2 years has been Colliniby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>I did not like the brotex towels. They have a few unique ones that ARE good. The Suede is good and they have something called Needle Punch that is a neat alternative to window wipers. It is a microfiber towel that feels like a papertowel and can be washed hundreds of times. It is sold by the weight I think. I bought some of nearly all their Microfiber and only the Suede and Needlby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>I was just reading an ad in the newest Professional Carwashing & Detailing July '04 issue (pg. 29). Ardex is advertising a quick liquid wax called "Viper". <HTML>The Wal-Mart ones for $3 are worth $3 and only LOOK like the nicer ones. The spray pattern sucks and only shut off in one direction and the components used feel so much cheaper than the $20 nozzle. Go back to home depot and look for their $19.95 "Ultimate Hose Nozzle". It looks like Griots $70 nozzle. Shuts off in either direction (VERY NICE feature). They don't caby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>The Insulator wax did pretty good in Bud's test for durability. It made about 8th out of 25. The Collinite Paste scored better equalling with Diamond Plus and Zaino (all three scored #1) for durability. But gloss wasn't so good after 12 washings. So like others have said before, use what you like! I pretty much use only Collinite and Diamond Plus for my reasons.</HTMby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts

<HTML>I have found a white drafters eraser works better than most anything else I have tried and they readily available everywhere! <HTML>Sorry for the late reply (been out of town), As others have already said yes the Collinite should be applied then removed. Then the next section, apply then remove, and so on....</HTML>by David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML> All of the Collinite line is easy to apply and remove IF you follow a few rules. The liquids are easy on and off. But the pastes....you must do in sections. Don't get me wrong. They are easy to work with as long as you don't do the whole car then expect the wax to remove easy. If you do a section (fender, door, half hood, etc.) it IS easy to work with. <HTML>I think this thread is heading in the wrong direction. #1 - ClearKote is a wax product not a 3-5 year wonder sealer. I think that was cleared up already. #2 - I think ClearKotes goal is to compete with other waxes in the "retail" sales market. It obvious by looking at their website that they go to car shows and such to sell their products. They aren't (from what Iby David R - Auto Detailing: Secrets of the Experts
<HTML>Brian, ClearKote isn't a high end sealant, but rather small start-up with a full product line. <HTML>I just picked up one of those California Water Blades last fall and I must say I REALLY like it.
